This is not a skin or veneer that adds thickness to your preciously thin iPhone 4/4S. This is a complete replacement part for the iPhone 4 rear glass battery cover. We use real carbon fiber rigid panels to make a replacement for the original glass in the battery cover assembly.
The CF panels we use are only 1/32 of an inch thick, which is about .010 in. thinner than the original glass panel, and can't be broken from a drop or much else. The iKarbonBak weighs only 13.4g, that is only slightly more than half the 22.2g of the original glass assembly. The iKarbonBak specs match the OEM battery cover size otherwise, making it compatible with most protective bumpers and cases. Of course we recommend using a PEACHii bamboo case which is designed to compliment the iKarbonBak.
We designed our product with this goal in mind. Allow owners to customize the iPhone 4/4S look and feel, while still allowing them to place the phone into an official bumper case or any other case for that matter.
We chose carbon fiber for it's beauty and strength. Carbon fiber is similar to steel in strength, yet super light weight. It is not a conductor of heat and will not absorb moisture. It causes minimal interfere with signal strength, but this may be more noticeable in low signal strength areas. The carbon fiber is precision machined to the same specs as the original glass part.
We sourced the highest quality OEM parts available for the frame and camera lens/housing. We assemble these parts into a unique piece of art.
No flash diffuser is used in our product, only a small piece of clear high strength polycarbonate. This provides a more intense flash.
iKarbonBak is compatible with all iPhone 4 & 4S models.
